Le Mans 66 in the Museum’s permanent exhibition
The temporary exhibition dedicated to the film Le Mans 66, directed by James Mangold with Matt Damon and Christian Bale, was a real success with its 13,600 visitors! The museum management therefore wished to integrate some of the elements given by the production company to the ACO in a new space dedicated to the film and to the edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1966. The public can (re) discover the duel between the Ford and Ferrari teams, emblematic characters such as the driver Ken Miles or the ingenious Carroll Shelby, the history of the race, the creation of a film set based on historical facts… Part of the documents and sets from the shoot are still present, such as the clock, the speakers, the costumes of Matt Damon and Christian Bale, vintage flags, the dashboard of the Ford GT40 and a legendary Ford GT40.
